Oakville to Host 2026 U17 World Hockey Challenge: What You Need to Know
It’s official! Hockey Canada has announced that the 34th edition of the U17 World Hockey Challenge will be hosted right here in Oakville at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex from November 1–7, 2026. This is a massive win for our community. This tournament features the top under-17 players from Canada, the USA, and Europe—providing a first look at the NHL stars of the future.
While the puck doesn't drop until November, the economic and community planning starts now. This February, the Oakville Rangers Hockey Club and Visit Oakville are beginning their preliminary volunteer and sponsorship drives. Hosting an event of this scale (the 10th time it's been in Ontario) brings millions in local economic impact.
For families with young players, this is an incredible opportunity to see elite-level speed and skill in a 1,500-seat intimate venue. Keep an eye out for ticket "pre-sale" announcements coming later this spring.
