Did you know that in the late 19th century, Oakville was recognized as the "Strawberry Capital of Canada"? This Saturday, July 18, 2026, our community proudly honors this rich agricultural heritage with the return of the Downtown Oakville Strawberry Festival.

From 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Lakeshore Road East (from Thomas St to Dunn St) will completely close down to car traffic, transforming the historic core into a pedestrian-only paradise.

What’s Happening:

• Strawberry Marketplace: Local farmers offering flats of freshly picked Ontario strawberries at their peak, alongside artisanal jams and pies.

• Culinary Creations: Downtown chefs are preparing exclusive strawberry menus—think balsamic strawberry-glazed pork bellies and fresh strawberry tarts.

• Live Entertainment: Stroll past live acoustic musicians, street magicians, and face-painting hubs.
